'Enugun Ready to Swear-in New Commissioners' ---ENSG

As the Enugu State House of Assembly, screened  and confirmed twenty-four commissioner nominees presented to them by Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi on yesterday, July 14, 2015, the Governor of the state, has confirmed his readiness to swear in the new commissioners tomorrow, July 16, 2015.
Shortly after the screening session, the Speaker of the House, Hon. Edward Ubosi, said their confirmation was based on their performance on the floor of the House when they faced barrage of questions during the screening by members of the House.
“In view of the performance of the nominees, the House do approve their appointment,” Hon. Ubosi posited.
Hon. Ubosi subsequently directed the clerk of the House to communicate ‘his Excellency accordingly.’
Earlier before their confirmation, leader of the House, Hon. Ikechukwu Ezeugwu expressed the hope that when confirmed the nominees would “do us proud.”
Because of the calibre of the commissioner nominees, the house members merely asked them to take a bow while some of them were asked question.
Those who were asked to take a bow and leave without questions during the screening exercise include Amb. Fidel Ayogu, Hon. Chijoke Edoga, Hon. Peace Nnaji and Hon. Ogbonna Asogwa.
Others who did not go through the rigors of screening include the former commissioners, Rita Mba, Mike Ene the immediate past commissioner for Agriculture and Barr. Charles Egumgbe, pioneer chairman of Enugu PDP and former commissioner for Commerce and Industry.
